Lance Williams (near left side of photo) with Next Energy Solutions, LLC provides an overview of the operation of HWCG’s ROV Ram Actuator Pump Skid during an SIT performed at Gulf Freight Management in Houston. The ROV Ram Actuator Pump Skid is one of two built for functioning the rams of HWCG’s Ram Capping Stack during a spill response. One of the skids will be maintained in a state of readiness at Next Energy’s shop in Tomball and the other is available for use as a rental in the US GOM. The ROV Ram Actuator Pump Skid is an innovative design that includes universal mounts which allows it to be deployed by Schilling, Perry and Oceaneering ROVs. The system is capable of delivering 50+ gpm at 3,000-psi and is outfitted with two (2) 50-gallon fluid reservoirs. The SIT was attended by HWCG Members Beacon Offshore Energy and W&T Offshore as well as three of HWCG’s Response Providers.
